About Anne Gannon
Anne Gannon, CPA, is not your typical accountant. A former professional golfer, she began her career as a CPA with a big-five accounting firm in Boston, Massachusetts. There, she quickly realized that the only winner in the traditional “busy season” approach was the accounting firm.
As the founder of The Largo Group, I have always been told that I am not your typical accountant. And at first I took offense. Trying to figure out what I could do to become a typical accountant?
But then I realized that it is my story that has enabled us to create The Largo Group, which offers a unique approach to accounting that works for the business owner, not just the accountant.
Many of you may not know this, but I grew up playing competitive golf. When I was in high school my parents would send me off every summer to different golf tournaments. We didn't have a lot of money, so these trips were an incredible sacrifice for our family and one that I would go on alone.
As I look back, I believe these experiences taught me two incredible life lessons:
- The pursuit of a dream is incredibly important. While your dream may not be professional golf, it is my hope that our company can be your set of believing eyes. To share with you our knowledge to get you to the next level.
- The hospitality industry can change lives - the people who welcomed me on these journeys were the members of the hospitality industry. It was the little things like the server who always made sure we placed an order before the kitchen closed. Or the golf pro who took the time to ask about our round even though he had 100 different things to do.
An entrepreneur at heart, Anne founded The Largo Group in 2016 because of her belief that accounting needs to be done differently. Rather than an accounting firm with a hands-off approach, she structured The Largo Group to take an active role with businesses through a monthly accounting system.
They first found the way into restaurants, because it’s an industry that has so many variables and is the hardest accounting job.
Over the past ten years, Anne has worked with over 500 companies all over the United States - ranging in revenue from $5 to $50 million. There are very few people that know more about small businesses than Anne, simply because she has spent a decade on weekly calls with owners around the country. She hears their frustrations, understands their
pain points, and helps them navigate challenges while planning for the expansion phase of the business.
